Landscaping requires expertise in horticulture and artistic design.

Landscape is the visible feature of the countryside or an area. Often it is termed in the form of aesthetic appeal. Landscape includes physical feature like Ice, hill cap, water bodies such as ponds, river, lake seas etc. It also includes land covers including ingenious vegetation and other human elements such as building, structure and another transitional element. Landscape also includes the weather condition such as light, temperature and others too. With both natural and human element, a dilemma is created which is often known as landscape. This landscape also portrays the cultural aspect of that region, and is prove to be the local and national identity of that place. The self-image of the landscape with its characteristic helps defining the specific qualities of that region. Earth has a variety of landscapes that includes icecaps of mountains, hilly areas, plains, desert etc. Forest is also included in the Tropical rainforest and boreal rainforest. Some of the landscapes are included in the natural landscapes which are unaffected by the human beings. These landscapes are left very few but they still exist. The natural landscape is unaffected by the human force and there is no distortion. These landscapes exist as it is.

The opposite of it are the humanized landscape, where there are distortions. The other common type of landscaping is the gardening landscaping in which species of plants are grown artificially and they are planted over there so that there is an artificial spot which are intentionally make for the attraction of the tourist. The gardening landscape actual blurs the line between the actual landscape and the manmade landscape. There is separate branch of biological science which has been drafted and it main task is to deal with the urban development all over the globe and increase the ecological friendly processes in the environment. It is done within a variety of landscape scales, development spatial patterns, and organizational levels of research and policy.

This not only includes the biological element but it also includes the human element and other factors such as biophysical and analytical approaches. Landscaping requires both good observation and design skills. The following are the list of the element which is included in the landscape. Living elements, such as flora or fauna; or what is commonly referred to as gardening, the art and craft of growing plants with a goal of creating a beautiful environment within the landscape. Natural elements such as landforms, terrain shape and elevation, or bodies of water; human elements such as structures, buildings, fences or other material objects created and/or installed by humans; and abstract elements such as the weather and lighting conditions. In the todays time people are trying to develop this landscape because these landscapes are one of the tourist attractions and tourism is one of the major sources for the development of the country and to increase the economy of the country, and as the time passes there is a great elevation in the scope of landscape.

The Chinese garden is a landscape garden style which has evolved over three thousand years. It includes both the vast gardens of the Chinese emperors and members of the Imperial Family, built for pleasure and to impress, and the more intimate gardens created by scholars, poets, former government officials, soldiers and merchants, made for reflection and escape from the outside world. They create an idealized miniature landscape, which is meant to express the harmony that should exist between man and nature. A typical Chinese garden is enclosed by walls and includes one or more ponds, scholar’s rocks, trees and flowers, and an assortment of halls and pavilions within the garden, connected by winding paths and zig-zag galleries. By moving from structure to structure, visitors can view a series of carefully composed scenes, unrolling like a scroll of landscape paintings.

The English landscape garden, also called English landscape park or simply the ‘English garden’, is a style of parkland garden intended to look as though it might be a natural landscape, although it may be very extensively re-arranged. It emerged in England in the early 18th century, and spread across Europe, replacing the more formal, symmetrical jardin à la française of the 17th century as the principal style for large parks and gardens in Europe. The English garden (and later French landscape garden) presented an idealized view of nature. It drew inspiration from paintings of landscapes by Claude Lorraine and Nicolas Poussin, and from the classic Chinese gardens of the East, which had recently been described by European travelers and were realized in the Anglo-Chinese garden, and the philosophy of Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712 – 1778).

The English garden usually included a lake, sweeps of gently rolling lawns set against groves of trees, and recreations of classical temples, Gothic ruins, bridges, and other picturesque architecture, designed to recreate an idyllic pastoral landscape. The work of Lancelot “Capability” Brown and Humphry Repton was particularly influential. By the end of the 18th century the English garden was being imitated by the French landscape garden, and as far away as St. Petersburg, Russia, in Pavlovsk, the gardens of the future Emperor Paul. It also had a major influence on the form of the public parks and gardens which appeared around the world in the 19th century.
